That same season he scored double figures in 19 games and was the highest individual scorer with 26 points against Luther College. The most memorable game of the season involved Tom's dramatic last second basket against Carroll College at Steven's Point. Tom also played baseball at Northland College for four years. Tom and his wife Janet, whom he met at Cabbie's Bar after a Northland game, have been married for 40 years.

In 1997 Scott received his National Soccer Coaching Association of America Coaching License and for the past fourteen years Scott has coached summer high school soccer camps at the University of Indiana.

Today Scott resides in Ashland, Wisconsin, and continues to coach both the men and women's soccer teams. He remains involved in the Chequamegon Health Center, which he partnered in opening, and spends much of his free time golfing, hunting, or fishing.
