Jim came to Northland from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and participated in football and track as well as turning in outstanding performances on the basketball court. As captain of the 1965-66 team, Jim earned several distinctions. He was named to the Small College All-American basketball team, was the NAIA district scoring record for single game scoring of 44 points (which stands to this day) and broke Bill Arntsen's scoring record against four-year colleges. He was also active in Sigma Tau Gamma, the International Student Association debate and on the Dean's List. Since graduation, he has taught 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the West Allis School System.
