Northland College is proud to recognize Elizabeth Erickson (formerly Betty Pufall) for her outstanding career on the Northland Women's Basketball team. During her four years on the team, Elizabeth earned a number of honors, including Rookie of the Year in 1990, Most Improved in 1991, the

Sportsmanship Award in 1992, and the MVP Award in 1993, when she set a new scoring record that stood for several years. She also received national recognition, as she was named NSCA All American and NSCA Academic All American in 1993, and was a member of the NAIA All-District 14 team in 1992 and 1993. In addition to her excellence on the basketball court, Elizabeth was also an academic all-star, graduating cum laude.

Following her graduation from Northland, Elizabeth turned her considerable talents toward education. She received her Master's Degree in Education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in 1998. She's been teaching 3rd grade in the Maple School District for nine years, and received the KBJR Golden Apple Teacher Award in 2002. She maintains an active interest in sports, particularly as a volunteer soccer coach.
