Frank Hunter came to Northland College from Antigo, Wisconsin and excelled in both football and basketball. After playing the 1958 football season as a left end, he was named to the Little All-American Team. In 1960 he was chosen for Who's Who in Small College Basketball. Hunter holds the record for most rebounds in one game (38); most rebounds in one season (518), and most rebounds in a college career (1,544). He also was the second highest scorer in Northland history when he graduated in 1962. Hunter was co-captain of the basketball team in 1961-62. He participated in track and was a member of the "N" Club for four years, serving as president his senior year.

After graduation, Hunter taught at Medford High School in Wisconsin. He later attended the University of Wisconsin in Superior and received his master's degree in Educational Administration. He has been in the insurance business for many years and is presently working for National Underwriting Agency, Inc., an insurance brokerage house in Chicago. He keeps busy with his family and enjoys golf.
