    Athletic Director, Coach

A true product of Northland College, he graduated from the Northland Academy in 1916 and the College in 1921. His further education took him to the University of Wisconsin and Chicago University from which institution he received an M.A. degree.

Returning to Northland he was Athletic Director and Coach from 1923 to 1932 during which time he was a professor in the Department of Economics and Sociology.

After leaving Northland he taught and coached in two high schools before assuming duties at the Waukegan Township High School in Illinois as teacher and coach. While living in that community he called upon his Northland experience in music where he had been a member of the choir and of the men's quartet that toured New England. He developed the Waukegan Philharmonic Society, acting as its president. In gratitude, the

citizens of the community erected a memorial marker to humor his many contributions in education, athletics, and music.
