Northland College Athletics

The daughter of Anna and Felix Apodaca, Stephanie enters her freshman year at Northland College.  She will major in the science field with interests in natural environment and marine biology.

Stephanie has been a highly prized athlete competitive soccer and swimming.  Through her high school career she was on the varsity soccer team for 3 years. Her junior and senior year her teammates nominated her as their team captain.  She also received the 4A Girls Honours award, Sunrise Southern Nevada Region Champions award.  In addition, her sophomore, junior, and senior years she received the Sunrise Division Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete Award.   She was also chosen and participated in the 1stAnnual Senior High School All- Star Soccer Classic 2011.  She was also on the varsity swim and tennis teams, and was a qualifier for Southern Nevada Region Championships in both sports.

Academically, she comes to Northland College as an honour student with a GPA of 3.81. Her Junior and Senior years of high school, she received an academic excellence award for Hispanics from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada and attended all 4 years of Rancho High School Medical Academy.

Apodaca chose Northland College because it best fits her academic and athletic interests.  She continues to say “Northland College offers a great learning environment, and class sizes are small, allowing one on one teacher-student learning.  This would allow me to add another strong layer to my educational foundation.”
