ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team plays its final home series of the 2024-25 season this weekend, hosting the University of Wisconsin-Stout for Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The LumberJacks and Blue Devils will begin the series on Thursday at 7 p.m. and conclude it on Saturday at 7 p.m.

When Northland hosted the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire last week, they were unable to score, falling 0-2 and 0-5 to the third-ranked team in the WIAC. In the opening game,
Dakota Meyer made 44 saves, with
Ben Stewart leading the team in shots with three.
Andrew Yocum made 36 saves in the series finale.
The leading point scorers for the Jacks are
Logan Gallagher and
Joe Weber, each with five points. Gallagher's points are all from goals, while Weber has three goals and two assists. Stewart and
Hunter Nelson lead Northland with four assists. Defensively,
Trey Taylor leads the WIAC with 37 blocks, and
Sam Holy follows with 32, ranking him third. Meyer and Yocum have split time in net, with Meyer making 371 saves and Yocum recording 363 saves.
The Blue Devils have an overall record of 9-8-2 and are 2-6-1 in the WIAC. Last week, UWS lost both contests against No. 11 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 1-5 and 0-1 in overtime. Sophomore Nicolas Pigeon is fourth in the conference with 20 points, on 10 goals and 10 assists. Senior Tyler Masternak has started 14 games in net, posting a 7-5-2 record with 336 saves.
In the first meeting between the teams, UW-Stout came out on top 4-2. Gallagher scored the opening goal on the power play, but the game was tied at 1-1 going into the first intermission. The Blue Devils then scored three unanswered goals to take a three-goal lead. Late in the game, Weber scored on the power play to try to spark the Jacks' offense, but they came up short.
