ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team returns to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action as they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday, then host the No. 13 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday. Both games are at 7 p.m.

Last week, the Jacks hosted Gustavus Adolphus College and were shut out for the first time this season. In the game, Northland totaled 23 shots but could not beat the goaltender. Freshman
Nik Johnson led the team in shots with six. Senior goalie
Dakota Meyer made 31 saves.
The LumberJacks have five student-athletes with three points to lead the team:
Logan Gallagher,
Joe Weber,
Evan Ilkos,
Mac Reed, and Johnson. Gallagher has a team-high three goals, while Ilkos' and Reed's points have all come from assists. Meyer and
Andrew Yocum have shared time in the goal with Meyer making 157 saves in four games, while Yocum has 126 across three.
The Blugold enter competition at 2-5-1 overall and 1-1-0 in WIAC play. Last week UW-Eau Claire had a home-and-home series with No. 2 St. Norbert College and were defeated 1-5 and 1-2. Their conference win came against the University of Wisconsin-Stout the game prior, winning 4-1. Junior Leo Bacallao has a team-high five points on three goals and two assists. Bacallao scored a hat-trick against Augsburg University on Nov. 16. Max Gutjahr has started all eight games for the Blugolds and has a 90.7 percent save rate.
In the most recent US College Hockey Online poll the Pointers were ranked 13
th with a 4-3 overall record and are 1-1 in conference play. Last week UW-Stevens Point went 1-1 in its WIAC games, falling, 1-5 to No. 10 University of Wisconsin-River Falls and then defeating the University of Wisconsin-Superior 5-4. Senior Dawson Sciarrino leads the WIAC in points with 10 on three goals and seven assists. Junior goaltender Alex Proctor has started six games and has a 4-2 record with 126 saves and an 86.3 save percentage.
