ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team starts Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Stout, then host No. 13 University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
The LumberJacks start their weekend at Menomonie, Wis., with a 7 p.m., game against the Blue Devils on Friday. Then on Saturday, the Jacks host the No. 13 Falcons at 7 p.m., at the Bay Area Civic Center.

Northland dropped both its games last week by two goals, first falling 2-4 to Augsburg University and then 1-3 to the College of St. Scholastica.
Dyson Germann,
Andronique Stepanian, and
Tristen Bear all found the back of the net, scoring their first collegiate goals.
Andrew Yocum and
Dakota Meyer each started a game in goal for NC making 48 and 39 saves respectively.
Early in the season, the Jacks have 14 student-athletes with at least one point on the season thus far. Senior
Evan Ilkos leads the way with three points all coming on assists. Sophomore
Logan Gallagher is the only member of the team to score twice so far. Yocum and Meyer have split time in goal this year both with two games. Yocum has made 87 saves with a 91.6 percent save rate and Meyer has saved 77 shots and has a 90.6 percent save rate.
The Blue Devils started the season winning their first three games but have dropped the next two for a 3-2 record. Last week UW-Stout lost 3-5 to Bethel University and 1-3 to Saint John's University. In the 2023-24 season, the Blue Devils finished third in the conference with an 8-7 record and reached the WIAC Semifinals. Sophomore Nicolas Pigeon and freshman Nicholas Stevens pace the scoring for UWS with four goals. Senior goaltender Tyler Masternak has started all five games for the Blue Devils making 105 saves.
In the most recent United States College Hockey Online Coaches Poll the Falcons were ranked 13
th in Division III hockey, moving up two spots. UW-River Falls is 4-1 after splitting its games last week, falling to Saint John's 0-3 and winning over Concordia College, Moorhead 1-0. Sophomore Jonny Meiers leads the team in scoring and points with three and four respectively. Junior Brennan Boynton started in net for all five games for UWRF and has saved 114 shots and has a save percentage of 93.4 percent.
