Evans Named to 1st Team All-WIAC

MADISON, Wis.--- The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced it's 2021-22 Men's Hockey award winners this afternoon which included Northland College Men's Hockey player, Connor Evans who was named to the WIAC 1st Team All-Conference Team. Senior Defenseman, Jacob Taylor was also named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.

Evans, the Senior Defenseman from Uxbridge, Ontario, led all LumberJacks in scoring this season with 2 goals and 17 assists for 19 points. Evans finished in a tie for 9th in the WIAC for points and in a tie for 1st for most assists this season in the WIAC. 

Evans' 17 assists on the season tied the record for most assists for a defenseman in a single season in LumberJack history, a record he shares with Brandon Horak which was set in the 1998-99 season. 

Head Coach Seamus Gregory commented, "We could not be more proud of Connor and his accomplishments. He is one of the most respected student athletes on our campus. He has solidified himself as one of the top players in the best conference in the country and one of the premier defensemen to wear a Jack jersey. He is a credit to himself, family, and teammates".

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
