Jacks Rebound With Rout Over Rams

Ashland, WI - A day after giving up a lead in a 3-1 loss to Northwestern, the Jacks made sure Saturday afternoon wouldn't be a repeat performance as they used four first half goals to cruise to a 5-0 win over the North Central University Rams.  With the win the Jacks are now 7-5 in the UMAC and 9-9 overall on the year.  The nine wins is the highest mark in a single season since the program moved to the NCAA in 2004.  

The Jacks started the day strong as they found the back of the net three times in the opening eight minutes of play.  Izaak Clarke got the scoring started just 3:22 in the match when Garrett Sutton played him through for the days first goal.  Less than thirty seconds later Nick Diaz sent Diego Castaneda in on a goal and he finished to give his team a 2-0 win.  Castaneda than turned to provider four minutes later when he lofted a ball across the box to the foot of Clarke who extended the lead to 3-0.

Yabkal Demelash finished off the scoring in the first half when he converted a penalty kick towards the end of the half.  Castaneda got his second goal of the game early in the first half to extend the lead to 5-0.

Jamie Colvill recorded the shutout in net.  The Jacks are in action next on Friday when they travel to Crown College, and than they have their season finale on Saturday at UM-Morris.  The Jacks, as of Saturday evening, sit in third place in the UMAC and will look to solidify their playoff posiiton in the final weekend.
