Aurora, IL -

The Jacks faced off against the Aurora University Spartans today in their second NCHA game of the weekend.

The Jacks wasted little time in the first as Daniel Chartrand would score his first collegiate goal of his career to give the Jacks an early lead. He was assisted by Oscar Larsson and Michael Courvoisier. The Spartans would be able to tie things up later in the period. The Jacks took advantage of a power play minutes later, when Zackary Fisher would bury one in the back of net for his first collegiate goal of his career, putting the Jacks back out in front. He was assisted by Kyle Pouncy and Lucas DeBenedet on the play. The Jacks took their lead into the first intermission.

The Spartans tied it up again early in the second. The Jacks would continue their offensive attack throughout the second period, but weren't able to put it between the pipes. The Spartans would manage to score a go ahead goal before the end of the period.

The Jacks continued to battle in the third as DeBenedet would rip it past the Spartans goaltender, tying the game up at 3. Oscar Larsson and Kyle Salmon recorded assists on the goal. However, they wouldn't be able to hold on as the Spartans would be able to answer regaining the lead. The Spartans would add an empty net insurance goal with seconds remaining on the clock. The Jacks fell by a final score of 5-3.

Northland goaltender David Krejcik tallied 19 saves in the match, while the Jacks recorded 22 shots on the night.

The Jacks will be back at home 11/9 against Milwaukee School of Engineering. Puck drop is set for 7pm. Next weekend will be parents' weekend for the Jacks, as well.
