The Northland College softball team dropped their first game in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament as the #1 seeded College of St. Scholastica topped Northland.  The LumberJills gave up three unearned runs in the first inning and the Saints never looked back cruising to an 11-2 victory.  The LumberJills will be back in action in the tournament in an elimination game at noon against the University of Northwestern.

"The first inning was unfortunate." said Head Coach Steve Wammer, "You don't want to give a good team a jump like that.  I am confident we will bounce back tomorrow."
