The Northland College Softball suffered another heartbreaking defeat in the final inning of an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) game Saturday. The University of Northwestern rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to erase a three run deficit and winn 6-5. The Eagles proceeded to sweep the doubleheader with a 7-3 win in the nightcap.
Although the LumberJills were swept , they had done a good job of positioning themselves with early conferenc wins so at the end of UMAC play Saturday they had clinched a spot in the UMAC tournament. The tournament is slated to be held May 2nd and 3rd in Duluth, Minn. The Jills are back in action with a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader at home verses Bethany Lutheran College
