MOOREHEAD, Minn. - Northland College (1-10-1, 1-7 NCHA) took on the Cobbers from Concordia College (6-4-3, 2-2-2 MIAC). The LumberJacks had a tough start against the Cobbers.
Northland had a rough start against Concordia as they went down two men early in the first period. The Cobbers scored off of this powerplay, but once the Jacks were back at full strength Timonthy Perks (assisted by
Brandon Fehd and
Zeke Yslas) would capitalize to tie the game up. The LumberJacks held the Cobbers with strong defense right to the end of the first period. This momentum continued into the second period no allowing a Cobber goal. With 8:52 left to play it was
Ben Owen (assisted by
Matt Lennon and
Anthony Stempin) who would give the Jacks the lead off of a power play. The LumberJacks kept this momentum going, but a last second goal from the Cobbers tied the game back up. Concordia had an early goal to start the third off, but Northland was not giving in and would fight hard right to the end. The Jacks were unable to get around the Cobber defense in the third period and fell 4-2.
Perks and Owen each ended the game with one goal a piece with the help of Fehd and Yslas on one goal and Lennon and Stempin on the other.
Jesse DiLillo had 32 saves on the day.
