ASHLAND, Wis. - Northland College (1-3, 1-3 NCHA) was able to find their groove today against Lake Forest (2-1, 1-1 NCHA) today in tight match.

Lake Forest started off with a quick goal in the first period with 15:23 left to go. Northland answered back scoring a goal with 9:13 remaining in the first. The Foresters would go on to score one more goa this period, but the Jacks would show their want to win and score one more as well. With the game all tied up at two you could see the hunger in the eyes of both teams as they headed into the locker room at the end of the first period.

The second period was even more intense than the first as there would be seven penalties! However, Northland showed poise with a Anthony Stempin (assisted by Colby Spoonemore) goal breaking the tie and pulling ahead 3-2. The LumberJacks would come up with another goal from Ben Owen (assisted by Matt Valley) with 4:25 left in the second period. There were a lot of close calls, but the Jacks defense showed determination not allowing the Foresters to score.

Lake Forest wouldn't go down without a fight as they would score the only goal in the third period with 13:20 left to play. It was an all out battle as both teams go all out to make plays. Both teams would get too heated as there would be four penalties with only 9.5 seconds to play. This did not distract Northland as they would pull out a hard fought win over Lake Forest.

Jesse DiLillo would have 29 saves on the day.
