Jacks Rally to Tie Blue Devils

ASHLAND, Wis. – Northland College (1-6-1, 1-5-0 NCHA) faced the University of Wisconsin Stout (2-5-1) in a hard fought battle by the LumberJacks and Blue Devils.

There was no telling where this game was going with all of the intensity on the ice. Stout was the first to score, but Northland wasn't backing down. As the Jacks defense put a stop to the Blue Devil's offense. The start of the second period was somehow more intense than the first with three penalties back to back. Neither team was able to score with while having more men on the ice. Yet there was another penalty minutes later, but the LumberJacks played big not allowing this to affect their play. After the penalty was complete Stout only got one shot off with a burst of energy from the Jacks to end the period.
 
A quick goal by Darius Cole (assisted by Anthony Stempin and Matt Valley) started the third period off. A few minutes later Stout answers back taking the lead 2-1. LumberJack Matt Lennon (assisted by Colby Spoonemore) would respond for Northland with 10:41 remaining in game. This goal would send the game into overtime. Neither team gave an inch during overtime this ended the game in a tie.

Lennon and Cole contributed one goal each. Stempin, Valley, and Spoonemore helped out with one assist each. Jesse DiLillo had 27 saves.
