Women’s Hockey concludes the regular season with a two-game series with UW-Superior

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Hockey team will play its final games of the regular season this weekend as they host the University of Wisconsin-Superior for Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The LumberJills and Yellowjackets will begin the series on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. puck drop on Saturday.

Last week, the Jills were at No. 13 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Though Northland was unable to come away with a point, Kyleigh Moffatt scored her sixth goal of the season in the series finale. Over the two games, Zoey Soost made 34 saves, Maddy Bliss had 19, and Zoe Laming made 26.
 
Moffatt leads the team with seven points this season, with six goals and one assist. Kennedy Gruhlke follows with five points, including two goals and three assists. Four LumberJills are tied for third with three points each. Defensively, Hannah Chady ranks first in the WIAC with 64 blocked shots. Yvonne Durfee and Nevaeh Trihey are tied for third with 35 each. In goal, Bliss has totaled 389 saves, Laming has 309, and Soost has recorded 166.
 
The Yellowjackets enter the final week of the regular season with an overall record of 9-12-2 and a WIAC record of 1-9. UW-Superior is on a six-game losing streak, including their last two losses against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 3-5 and 3-4 in overtime. Senior Jenna Hoops leads UWS with 18 points, consisting of 10 goals and eight assists. In net, Molly Black and Anna Maulson have split time, with 338 and 285 saves, respectively.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
