LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Northland College Volleyball team earned the 2024 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award announced on Wednesday, July 17. Northland was also named to the Honor Roll for having a team GPA in the top 20 percent of all Division III volleyball teams.
 
To earn the AVCA Team Academic Award the program must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.3. This is the first time since 2015 that Northland has won this award and the second in program history. At the end of the 2023-24 academic year Northland Volleyball finished with a 3.73. The team's GPA was in the top 20 percent of all DIII volleyball teams, thus earning the additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll. This is the first time that Northland Volleyball has earned this honor.
 
This year a record-setting number of teams won the award with over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earning the honor.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
