Northland concludes the 2024 season at BLC and MLC

Volleyball takes final road trip to Minnesota

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Volleyball team ends its 2024 season with one last road trip to Minnesota as they take on Bethany Lutheran College on Friday at 7 p.m., then Martin Luther College at 11 a.m., on Saturday to wrap up Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play.

Northland won its first match of the season last week, defeating Crown College in four sets. Britta Josephson and Leah Allan led the NC attack with 19 and 15 kills respectively. Britta also tallied 27 digs to help earn her UMAC Offensive Player of the Week. In the following match against the University of Minnesota Morris, Kodie Rempp surpassed 500 career assists and set a career-high of 31 against Crown.
 
Josephson leads the Northland attack with 194 kills and ranks sixth in the UMAC with 2.77 per set. Allan is not far behind at 176 kills and is 14th in the conference. Rempp has assisted on 342 points this year. The duo of Josephson and Allan both rank in the top 10 in digs per set with 3.49 and 3.40 respectively.  
 
The Vikings enter the final week of the regular season at 13-14 overall and 5-7 in the UMAC. BLC is in fifth in the conference, one game back from reaching the playoffs. Last week the Vikings split their matches, falling in three sets to the University of Northwestern, then defeating North Central University in four sets after dropping the first one. Freshman Lilly Mehrkens paces Bethany Lutheran with 272 kills. Junior Megan Wegner leads the defensive with 399 digs.
 
The Knights are 7-19 overall and 4-8 after dropping their sole match last week. MLC ended a four-game losing streak after defeating Crown two weeks ago. The Knights have two student-athletes with over 200 kills in Grace Kieselhorst (284) and Lauren Paulsen (251). On the other side of the ball, Anna Kieselhorst has a team-leading 384 digs.
