ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Lacrosse team starts Midwest Lacrosse Conference play on Saturday when they host the University of Dubuque at 11 a.m., at Ponzio Stadium in Ashland, Wis.

The Spartans are 6-5 overall and 1-0 to start conference play. In the MLC Preseason Preview Dubuque was picked to finish second, only one point behind Lake Forest College. In their conference opener, they defeated the University of Northwestern 16-6 last week. Offensively, Sam Todd has led the Spartans with 58 points from 38 goals and 20 assists to be named MLC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. Junior Ryan Doyle has been MLC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. Doyle leads the conference with 43 caused turnovers.

The Jacks' last games were on March 24 and 25 where they split the games. Northland started the weekend falling to Milwaukee School of Engineering 4-17 with
Logan Gallagher scoring three goals and
Cody Pfaller scoring the other. The following day the LumberJacks won 18-11 over Marian University with Gallagher scoring a career-high eight goals.

Gallagher now leads Northland's offense with 32 points, on 24 goals, and eight assists.
Brodie Trollop is right behind him with 25 points on 17 goals and eight assists.
Matt Maudsley rounds out the top three with seven goals and five assists for 12 points on the season.
Max Shafer and
Luke Ballard both have double-digit caused turnovers at 22 and 10 respectively.

Tony Donaldson earned his second win of the season improving his record to 2-3 and has 66 saves through six games.
Rudy Ruegemer has a team-high save percentage at .551 through his three games and has a record of 1-2 with 43 saves.
