Northland falls in final game of the season

ST. PAUL, Minn. – In the final game of the season the Northland College Lacrosse team fell 16-0 to the University of Northwestern in Midwest Lacrosse Conference play Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn.
 
This is the first shutout Northland Men's Lacrosse has suffered in program history.
 
The Eagles took the lead one minute into play. They continued to build off the early success to win the conference game.
 
The LumberJacks recorded 37 shots in the contest with eight being on frame. Jackson Breton had 10 shots, one being stopped by the goalie. Brodie Trollop paced the team with two shots on goal. Northland had 29 groundballs with seven controlled by Max Shafer. Breton and Trey Taylor were behind him with five.
 
Alex Walls made his second start in net of the season. Walls made 10 saves on 26 shots on goal. Bryson Cecconi had the majority of the caused turnovers with six.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
