ASHLAND, Wis. – Northland alumni Anne Kriskovich was named as the new head coach for the Northland College Women's Soccer Team announced on Thursday Oct. 24.
 
Anne Kriskovich will be taking over for Olaf Kristen who stepped away from the position.
 
"I am excited to announce the new hire of Anne Kriskovich," said Athletic Director Dan Schumacher. "She will be a great fit for the program and I look forward to seeing what she will do. It is great to have an alumnus back with the program."
 
Kriskovich has been coaching since 2008 at different levels. In 2013, she was the assistant coach at Northland on the Men's and Women's sides. During her two-year stint, Kriskovich helped with recruiting, planning practices, and fundraising. For the 2015 season, she attended Slippery Rock University and was a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women's Soccer team. Recently Kriskovich has been an Assistant Coach for the Northland Men's Soccer team this year.
 
"As an alumni and former player of Northland College, I am honored to have the opportunity to oversee the women's soccer program as the Head Coach," said Kriskovich. "The women's team has a history of success and I know we can get back to being a competitive team in the UMAC.  I look forward to rebuilding the program and providing a positive and successful experience for our student-athletes."
 
Along with her coaching, Kriskovich earned accolades in her playing time. Starting in 2005 she played four seasons with Northland Women's Soccer. Kriskovich was named Soccer Rookie of the Year in her first collegiate season. The next three seasons she was named captain and led the team to three straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Playoffs. Kriskovich was named First Team All-UMAC, All-UMAC Tournament Team, and Team MVP during those three seasons. She ended her Northland career with 29 goals, 10 assists, and 68 points, ranking sixth in All-Time scoring at Northland College.
