Last weekend Northland competed at the Bethany Lutheran Invite and Martin Luther College Classic. The men finished seventh in both but were three strokes shy of Crown College at the MLC Classic. The women had
Maddy Bliss and
Saleen Thepmontry compete as individuals with both setting new season-lows at the Bethany Lutheran Invite.
At the UMAC Championship, the LumberJills will have
Donna Jackson, Bliss, and Thepmontry all compete as individuals. All three golfers have shot under 110 this season with Jackson the closest to break 100 when she shot a 101 at the Twins Port Collegiate. Bliss has been consistent in her freshman season with all six of her round just three strokes apart. Thepmontry has shown a huge improvement in her first season with the golf team. In her first round, she shot a 151 (+79) but carded a 109 (+38) last week.
The LumberJacks will send
Andrew Yocum,
Isaiah Gueths,
Mac Reed,
Mitch Taylor, and
Luke VanBaalen to compete in Becker, Minn. At the UMAC Preview, the Jacks finished in eight with Yocum leading the way shooting an 86 (+14). Gueths led Northland at the Bethany Lutheran Invite for the first time this season.
