Northland Cross Country returns to action at the Wisconsin Private School Championships

Cross Country runs their third race in Mequon, Wis.

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams return to action on Saturday at the Wisconsin Private School Championships in Mequon, Wis.

There will be 202 runners from 11 schools across both races. The men's 8k will start at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at noon.
 
Junior Brandon Faber had led Northland in both races so far this season. His best time has come at the Rivertown Twilight on Sept. 7 in Prescott, Wis., with a time of 34:50.0. Sophomore Thomas Szymanski has also run in both meets for the Jacks this season. Teddy Uehling and Logan Gray-Ives are also running for Northland, this is Uehling's second meet of the year and Gray-Ives is making his collegiate debut.
 
Lillian Beske and Morgan Hockemeyer have both led the LumberJills in a meet this season. Hockemeyer had a time of 35:07.5 at the River Town Twilight to pace Northland. In the following race, Beske finished at 35:35.9 in the St. Olaf Invitational pacing NC. Madie Linka has competed in every meet this season and has improved after each one. Madi Kirn and Hayla Woody are making their collegiate debuts at this meet.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
