ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team travels to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Game of the Week on Wednesday. The LumberJacks also travel to Bethany Lutheran for another conference game.
 
This is the first UMAC Game of the Week Northland has competed in and can be seen on the UMAC Sports Network starting at 7 p.m., on Wednesday. The Jacks wrap up the week in Mankato, Minn., with a 3 p.m., kickoff against the Vikings.

The Jacks entered their second week of conference play and were unable to get the result, falling 0-4 to North Central University and then 0-2 to the University of Minnesota Morris. Northland's defense held strong in the first half in both games only allowing one goal. Rodrigo Chavez recorded six saves in both matches.
 
Deshaun Williams and Avery Zenger have found the back of the net for the Jacks this season with Noah Del Vecchio assisting on a goal. Chris Gomez has been testing the keeper but has not got one past but has the second most shots on target with five. Chavez has 57 saves on the season.
 
The Yellowjackets have continued their dominant performance from last season with a 5-2-2 record and are 4-0 in the UMAC. The two losses have come against a ranked opponent and one receiving votes. In the first four conference games for UW-Superior, they have won via shutout. Senior Josh Bellamy leads the Yellowjackets with four goals and four assists, while in net Alex Paredes is 4-2-2 with 26 saves.
 
The Vikings are 3-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play. Last week Bethany Lutheran took a 2-0 victory over Martin Luther College then fell to UW-Superior 0-2. Daniel Almeida had paced the Vikings with seven goals. Senior Nick Lundberg has seen a majority of time in the net and has made 26 saves.
