Jills drop first UMAC game against Crown College

Northland falls 3-0 to Crown College

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Northland College Women's Soccer team fell in its first match of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference against Crown College 3-0, Friday night in St. Bonifacius. Elysabeth Lough set a season-high for saves after stopping eight shots.
 
The Polars tested Lough from the jump with the junior goalkeeper saving two saves in the first two minutes. The seventh shot from Crown College found the back net in the 25th minute. After that goal Lough was able to shut CC down for the rest of the half. Coming out of the break Crown College added another goal in three minutes. In the 60th minutes the Polars scored the final goal of the game from Aletheia Fisher.
 
The LumberJills offense hit a skid in the game today with only getting one shot off. In the 88th minute, Reece Gellerman sent a shot toward goal that was stopped by Rachel Fuller. Lough recorded eight saves in the game, her most in a game this season. Lough had three in the first half and five in the second.
 
The Jills return to Ponzio Stadium Saturday as they take on Martin Luther College at 4:30 p.m. The Knights had their first UMAC game today where they tied University of Minnesota, Morris 1-1.
