ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's and Women's Golf teams travel to Becker, Minn., to compete at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preview Thursday at Pebble Creek Golf Course. This will be the first time this season the teams will see this course and will be back in Becker, Minn., for the UMAC Championship in three weeks.
Last season at the LumberJills finished in 7
th at the UMAC Preview carding 509 (+221). Leading the Jills was
Maddy Bloedel who finished tied for third, two strokes away from first. The Jacks also finished in 7
th last season after they finished 360 (+72).
Bloedel picked up where she left off last season to lead the Jills in the first outing. The team finished in sixth, five strokes away from Martin Luther College in fifth, at the Twin Port Collegiate. Bloedel finished tied for 10
th with only four UMAC golfers finishing higher than her. Also competing in the first meet were senior
Kiley Sims, juniors
Donna Jackson, and
Yvonne Durfee, and making her collegiate debut
Harley Heckendorf.
The men finished in sixth as well at the Twins Port Collegiate last weekend. The team of five was
Connor Taylor,
Kenny Styles,
Peyton Solberg,
Isaiah Gueths, and
Gabe Lanhart. The junior Taylor led the Jacks in their first outing finishing 14 over par to finish in 14
th.
