ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team starts conference play in the Upper Midwest Athletics Conference with any way game against Crown College at 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, followed by a home match with Martin Luther College on Saturday at 2 p.m.  The Jacks enter conference action with a record of 1-4.

Crown College earned its first win of the season against Emmaus Bible College 4-3 in its last match and is 1-3 on the season. The Jacks and Polars met twice last season. The LumberJacks took the first game 2-1 after suffering an early in the first four minutes of play, with goals coming from
Thomas Carey and
Quinn Bieber. Game two ended in a 1-1 draw, the goals were both scored in the second half, seven minutes apart. Crown College leads the overall series 15-6-4 but has not won a game against Northland since Sept. 29, 2018.

The Knights are 2-2 on the season coming off a 2-1 win over Buena Vista University on Saturday. The Jacks won the previous four meetings with the most recent being a 4-2 victory in Ashland, Wis. In the last seven matches, Northland is 5-1-1 despite trailing in the series 11-23-3.

Northland won its first game of the season topping Maranatha Baptist 7-0 on its home opener on Friday. The Jacks almost followed it up against Hamline University but a disallowed goal and a late goal by the Pipers ended the game 2-3. After being voted to finish third in the conference the Jacks look to get off to a hot start this week in conference play.

Harrison Tibbetts is the points leader for Northland with four from two goals. Tibbetts also leads the team with nine with 67% of them ending up on frame. Behind Tibbetts with three points are

Colvill has started in net for four of the five games this season and has tallied 29 saves. In the game against Carleton College, he saved 13 shots. In the second half of the Maranatha Baptist game sophomore
Tjaden Whisenhunt made his season debut. Against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Whisenhunt made his first start of the season and ended the game with six saves.
