ASHLAND, Wis. – After a loss and draw the Northland College Men's Soccer team looks to get back in the win column in the fourth week of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Jacks will play in two road games this week, starting with the University of Northwestern on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., followed by Martin Luther College on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
 
Last week the Jacks went 0-1-1, falling to the University of Wisconsin-Superior 6-2, then drawing the UMAC leader Bethany Lutheran College 1-1. After the first half, Northland and the Yellowjackets were knotted up at 1-1, with Harrison Tibbetts scoring his 12^th goal of the season. Keagan Culbertson scored his first goal of the season from the spot in the loss. Against BLC freshman Kolton Frederickson scored his first LumberJack goal.
 
The Eagles, halfway through the season are 2-5-2 with a UMAC record of 2-3-1. UNW won its matches last week, starting with a 4-1 win over MLC then followed it up with a 2-1 victory over the University of Minnesota, Morris. In his first season with the Eagles freshman Simeon Friesen leads the team with four goals, two coming in last week's games. Starting in the goal for seven of UNW's nine games is freshman Kyle Dipzinski.
 
Northwestern leads the series 32-19-3, with the previous three games all ending in a different outcome. The Jacks won the most recent game 2-0 in St. Paul, Minn., Tibbetts scored the winning goal in that contest. The game in Ashland last year resulted in a 1-1 tie, Diego Castaneda scored the equalizer in the 50^th minute.
 
The Knights are on a seven-game skid falling to 2-9 on the season and 0-6 in the conference. MLC fell 7-0 to the second-place Yellowjackets on Saturday and 1-4 to Northwestern on Wednesday. Senior Josiah Wordell had scored half of the Knights' goals this season at five. Martin Luther has bounced between two keepers, junior Adam Rosenbaum and freshman Zachary Pausma.    
 
In the first meeting this season the Jacks took a 6-0 victory over the Knights. Tibbetts had his breakout game, scoring the first five goals. Northland has been on a hot streak against MLC taking the last five games. In New Ulm, Minn., the Jacks are 2-7-1, winning their two games there and drawing the third.
 
Northland is third in the UMAC with 11 points, UW-Superior is right ahead of them at 15 and Crown College sits in fourth one point behind. This season the goal scored for the Jacks has been Tibbets with 12 to lead the UMAC and is currently seventh in all of Division three. Nolan Melek and Sorel Richardson are tied for third with the most assists this season with three. Jamie Colvill has a record of 4-4-1 in the goal with two shutouts.
