SUPERIOR, Wis.--- The Northland College Volleyball team traveled to Superior, WI this evening for a UMAC conference matchup against UW-Superior. The Jills fell in three sets to the YellowJackets (25-19, 25-19, 25-23).

After a back and forth match early in the first, it was the LumberJills who jumped out to the early lead half way through at 13-12 after a Larissa Fossum kill. UWS responded in a big way going on an 5-0 run and a 4-0 run and eventually take the first set 25-19. In the second, the Jills quickly found themselves in a 17-11 hole but were able to claw back into the match after 3 consecutive kills from Bailey Wynn and a service ace from Alexa Zadra made the score 20-18 in favor of UWS. However UWS was able to score the final four points to take the match 25-19 over the Jills. In the third, after finding themselves in 5-0 hole, the Jills once again fought back in the set, tying the match at 10-10 after an attack error from UWS. Down 21-18 late in the match, Rachel Callow added a service ace to tie the match 21-21. UWS however went on a 4-2 run to close out the set 25-23 and win the match 3-0 over the Jills. 

Larissa Fossum (10), Bailey Wynn (8) and Elizabeth Montgomery (6) led all LumberJills in kills. 

Rachel Callow collected 23 assists while Alexa Zadra had 19 digs in this evening's match. 

The Jills continue UMAC action this Friday (October 14th) as they travel to Mankato, MN to take on Bethany Lutheran College. Game time is set for 7pm.
