RIPON, Wis.--- The Northland College Volleyball team traveled to Ripon, WI this weeked for a two day tournament hosted by Ripon College. The Jills finished the two day tournament going 2-2, dropping matches to UW-Lacrosse and Ripon College and collected wins against Finlandia University and Maranantha Baptist University.
In game one, the Jills would fall to UW-Lacrosse (11-25, 16-25, 12-25).
Elizabeth Montgomery led all LumberJills, collecting 7 kills.
Alexa Zadra would have 9 digs in game one. In game two, the Jills would pick up their first win of the season, rolling Maranantha Baptist (25-21, 25-22, 25-12). The Jills continued to find their grove in game 3 vs. Finlandia University picking up the win in 4 sets (26-28, 25-14, 27-25, 25-19). In game four vs. the host school, Ripon College, the Jills would fall, this time in 4 sets (11-25, 25-12, 6-25, 23-25).
Larissa Fossum led all LumbrJills in kills in game two picking up 11. Fossum also led the Jills in digs with 22.
Alexa Zadra was the lone LumberJill named to the all-tournament team.
The Jills continue their non-conference slate of games next weekend (Sep 10-11) at the UW-Superior Inivite in Superior, WI vs. Crown College, Concordia MN, Macalester College and UW-Superior.
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
