Ashland, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks had seven players recognized as all conference players on Wednesday afternoon. The Jacks ultimately finished third in the UMAC, their highest finish in program history, and also posted their best record in program history in their NCAA era.
Diego Castaneda and
Jamie Colvill were recognized on the first team for the UMAC. Castaneda had nine goals and four assists on the year while covering a lot of ground out on the wing for the Jacks. For Colvill, this was his second year in a row getting first team recognition. He started all but one game for the Jacks and earned ten wins on the year. In conference play he had several big saves throughout the year, including stopping four of five penalty kicks in conference games.
Izaak D. Clarke and
Ainsworth Grant earned second team honors. Clarke led the Jacks in goals this year while Grant swept up defensively.
Lee Dennis,
Nick Diaz, and
Jon Goenega Etxarri all earned honorable mentions from the UMAC. Etxarri was outstanding in the back all year for the Jacks while Diaz patrolled the midfield. Senior
Lee Dennis added six goals on the year while playing both in the backline and in the midfield.
Kyle Rhines was named to the all sportsmanship team.
