Jacks Fall in Double Overtime to First Place Vikings

MANKATO, Minn.--- The Northland College Men's Soccer team traveled to Mankato, MN today for a UMAC Conference game against the first place Bethany Lutheran College Vikings. After a scoreless game after 90 minutes, the Jacks would fall in heartbreak fashion in double overtime, falling to the Vikings 1-0.

Northland would have quality scoring chances from Justin Magan, Diego Castaneda and Carlos Ponce in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net but either could the Vikings as the score would remain 0-0. Both teams would continue to have chances to find the net as Jonah Evans, Castaneda and Ponce would again have chances. Jamie Colvill would stand tall in net through 90 minutes, making 11 saves to force overtime. After a scoreless first overtime and with just 10 minutes to play in the second overtime, BLC broke through the defense of the Jacks and found the net to take the match 1-0. 

Colvill, who played brilliantly for the Jacks, made 14 saves in goal. 

The Jacks will continue UMAC action tomorrow as they travel to New Ulm, MN to take on the Knights from Martin Luther College. Game time is set to start at 3:30pm.
