Ashland, WI – Dan Dubois has been tabbed as the next head coach for the Northland College Women's Soccer Program. Dubois joins Northland after serving as the head men's soccer coach at Juniata College for thirteen years.
I am very excited about being given the opportunity to be a part of Northland College Athletics," commented Dubois. "I would like to thank President Solibakke,
Seamus Gregory and the search committee for having the confidence in me to lead the women's soccer program forward. During the interview process, it was obvious to me that the guiding principles and values that the Athletic Department have align perfectly with mine. I am looking forward to getting the team back on campus and getting to work on building the LumberJill soccer program!"
Dubois led the men's soccer program at Juniata from 2007 to 2019. During his tenure with the Eagles, Dubois led the program through its finest season in program history in 2013. Dubois's squad finished 13-6-3 and reached the Landmark Conference Championship. The Eagles were rewarded with the programs first ever ECAC Tournament invitation. Dubois left the Eagles program as the all-time leader in both wins and win percentage. His 2013 team also still holds the program record for lowest goals against average in a season.
"We're really looking forward to the future of LumberJills soccer in the UMAC and beyond under Dan," commented Northland Interim Athletic Director,
Seamus Gregory. "He understands recruiting at the college level and at private liberal arts institutions, and throughout the search process we kept coming back to him. We have one of the best facilities in the nation with Ponzio Stadium and Kendrigan locker room complex, the education here is second to none, the sky is the limit for soccer and all our sports. I'm excited Dan is joining our staff here and I'm looking forward to welcoming him and his family to Ashland."
Dubois played collegiately at Southern Vermont College from 1997-2000. He was a four year starter for the Mountaineers and was named to the Greater North Atlantic All-Conference team twice. In 2001, the Mountaineers tabbed Dubois as an assistant coach for the men's program after he graduated before naming him Head Coach in 2002. Dubois coached the Mountaineers for two years and led the program to a GNAC playoff appearance in 2002.
Dubois joined the Eagles staff in 2004 after leaving Southern Vermont. He started out as an assistant coach with both the men's and women's program until he took over the men's program as the head coach in 2007. Dubois also assisted with the Men's and Women's Track and Field Program from 2008 until 2015. In 2009 the Women's Program was tabbed as Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
From 2006 to 2013 Dubois was heavily involved in club soccer with the Huntingdon Hawks. Dubois first began with the women's side as he led the clubs U19 team, before becoming the director of coaching in 2010.
Dubois is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Coaching from Ohio University. In addition, he currently holds a United Soccer Coaches Advanced Regional Diploma.
