The LumberJills traveled to Crown College for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Triangular against Crown College and Bethany Lutheran College.
Game 1 saw the Jills face off against the Crown College Storm. Set 1 would be a back and forth battle between the two teams. Crown College broke away with a 4 point lead half way through the first set, but the Jills would battle back to take the lead 15-14. The teams would trade leads throughout the rest of the set, but Northland would pull away and come out on top, winning 25-21.
Northland would jump out to an early lead in set 2, but Crown College would answer with a 4 point rally to take the lead 8-7. Northland would quickly retake the lead. However, a Crown College 6 point rally would put them back on top, taking set 2 25-20.
Set 3 saw the LumberJills' offense come alive with an early 5 point rally, but Crown College would answer with an 8 point rally of their own giving them a 9-5 lead. Northland would chip away at Crown College throughout the set and would eventually retake the lead 18-16. The Jills would hold on to win set 4 25-22.
The Jills would put it all together in set 4 as they would score early and quickly take the lead. They wouldn't look back and would continue with their offensive attack for the remainder of the set, winning 25-17 and taking the match 3-1.
Freshmen
Nora Hagen and
Justine Litherland would lead the team in kills with 16, while Senior
Bethany Best would add 11. Litherland and Junior
Caitlyn Severson would both record 3 aces in the game. Freshman
Amelia Olson had 3 blocks, while Junior
Hannah Hitchcock recorded 43 assists. Severson, Best, and Junior
Katelyn Wicks had 19, 14, and 13 digs respectively.
In game 2 the Jills took on Bethany Lutheran College. The Jills would fall behind early in set 1, but a 5 point rally would quickly get them back in the game. Northland would keep battling and eventually tie it up at 19-19, but the Vikings would pull away and take the set 25-22.
Northland would start out slow in set 2, but would eventually break through to tie up the game at 19-19. The Jills would go on to retake the lead 23-22 and would hold on to win the set 25-23.
Set 3 would be all Bethany Lutheran as the LumberJill offense would have a hard time putting anything together. The Vikings would win the set 25-9.
In what would be the final set of the match, both teams would have multiple leads throughout the game. However, after a 24-24 tie Bethany Lutheran College would pull away to take the set 26-24 and win the match 26-24.

Kim Falkenhagen commented on her team's performance, "They both were great matches, and except for the 3 set vs. Bethany Lutheran the team played very well. Against Crown,

Hannah Hitchcock did a great job controlling and leading the match.
Bethany Best came back against Bethany Lutheran and along with
Ashley Mokamba and
Camille Eastburn, led their team to a great fight. I think we are starting to find our groove and learning to compete, and succeed. I am very proud of the team's performance."
Bethany Best would lead the team with 16 kills, while Senior
Camille Eastburn would record 11 and Junior
Ashley Mokamba would finish the game with 5.
Justine Litherland led in blocks with 3.
Hannah Hitchcock recorded 17 assists and Freshman
Taylor Wiegert added 10.
Caitlyn Severson led in digs with 22.
