The LumberJills took on the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets tonight at the Chapple Family Gymnasium.
 
Set 1 was a back and forth battle between the two teams. The LumberJills would jump out to an 8-6 lead. However, the Yellowjackets would battle back to take the 9-8 lead.  The Yellowjackets would widen their lead and take the first set 25-14.
 
Set 2 saw Northland jump out to an early 4-0 lead. The Yellowjackets wouldn't give in and would rally to take a 9-8 lead. The Jill's offense would stay hot throughout the match as they would take the set 18-25.
 
Set 3 would mirror the first set as both teams would trade leads throughout the match. However, the YellowJackets would pull away late in the set and hold on to win the set 25-19.
 
In set 4, UW-Superior would jump out to an 8-5 lead. The Jills would battle back and retake the lead at 18-17. After a tight battle, the LumberJills would hold on to take the set 26-24.
 
In the final set of the match, Northland jumped out to an 8-5 lead. However, UW-Superior would battle back to tie the set up at 9. The LumberJills would retake the lead later in the set, but would ultimately lose 16-14.
 
Senior Bethany Best led the team with 15 kills, while Senior Camille Eastburn and Freshman Justine Litherland both added 13. Junior Hannah Hitchcock finished the night with 43 assists and Junior Adrianna Galtieri recorded 33 digs.
 
The LumberJills will travel to Morris Minnesota on 10/27 to play against the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars. The game is scheduled to begin at 3pm.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 15 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
