ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Northland struggled the first day of the St. Benedict dropping a pair of matches to UW-Eau Claire, and Bethel, both in straight sets.
The LumberJills started the day facing off against in-state foe University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The BluGolds picked apart the back row for Northland, while the Jills couldn't seem to find any gaps in the Eau Claire defense.
Averi Kanyuh would lead Northland in kills with three, but Northland fell 25-7, 25-10, and 25-8.

The LumberJills would be unable to find a good rhythm, while Bethel put the pedal to the floor as Northland would fall 25-2, 25-11, 25-11.
Tayler Viegut led the team in kills for the match with nine, while
Kelsey Bodart was able to assist on ten kills.
Alison Blackford was able to dig up 11 balls in the back row for Northland.

The Jills are back in action tomorrow when they take on Concordia (Minn.) at 11 am, and host Saint Benedict at 3 pm.
