ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Baseball team will compete in two series this week, starting with the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday at 5 p.m., and finishing the week with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference three-game series at Crown College. The LumberJacks and Polars have one game on Friday at 3 p.m., then a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

Last weekend, Northland played a three-game conference series with the University of Northwestern. The Jacks battled but could not come away with a win. In game three, Northland had a lead entering the eighth inning, but the Eagles would walk it off in the ninth to win 13-12.
Senior
Caden Willis, after batting over .600 last week, now leads the LumberJacks with a .333 batting average with 25 hits, two doubles, two triples, and three home runs.
Ridge Guyette is not far behind, batting .329. Two other student-athletes are also batting north of .300 in
Jonjay Arreazola and
Nathan Davison. On the mound,
Ethan Boyce leads Northland with a 4.78 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
Andrew Birko follows with a 6.53 ERA.
The Saints have a 10-13 record and are 3-6 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. In their most recent games, CSS had a doubleheader with Carleton College where they split the series, winning game one 10-0 then falling 1-2. Jake Schelonka paces the team at .417 with a team-high 18 RBIs. Matt Forrest leads the pitch staff with a 1.69 ERA.
The Polars are 13-12 overall and are fifth in the UMAC with an 8-4 record. Last week, Crown was at Bethany Lutheran College, where they went 1-2 in the three-game series. In the game they won, they bested the Vikings 13-10. The Polars have five student-athletes batting over .300 with Drew Girtz leading at .380. On the mound, Ryan Vondracek has a team-low 3.47 ERA with 35 strikeouts.
