ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Baseball team has a three-game Upper Midwest Athletic Conference series with the University of Northwestern starting with a game Friday, April 11 at 3 pm, and followed up with a doubleheader on April 12 at 1 p.m. All three games will be played in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Northland won both of their games earlier in the week with a sweep over Lakeland University in Plymouth, Wis. In the first game of the doubleheader, Northland scored 11 runs to Lakeland's 8, while the second game ended with a final score of 13-3 in favor of the Jacks. Vinny Cooney earned his first collegiate win in game one, and Dezmon LeTexier took the win in game two. Peyton Solberg earned a save in each. Caden Willis had a great series, recording seven hits, six runs, and four RBIs.
 
So far this season, Willis leads the team in batting average with a .317 while Ridge Guyette has a team-high .552 slugging percentage throughout the season, with Willis following behind with a .492. On offense, Willis and Guyette have batted in 11 and 10 runs, respectively, while Murphy leads the team with six stolen bases on the year.
 
On the Mound this season Ethan Boyce, leads the team with a 4.26 earned run average with Andrew Birko following behind with a 5.14. Boyce also leads the team in strikeouts with 24, Solberg following behind with 17.
 
The Eagles have a 10-12 overall record and are 8-1 in the UMAC. Last week, Northwestern went 3-0 against Martin Luther College, before dropping their last game vs Bethel University by a final score of 11-6. Christian Raya leads the Eagles with a batting average of .389 and is followed closely behind by Mark Bligh with a .378. Raya also leads the Eagles in slugging percentage at .611. On the mound for the Eagles, Nick Drinken leads the team with a 4.18 ERA, while Aaron Severson leads the team with 30 strikeouts.
