Cal Fougner enters his second season with the program. Last year, he led the LumberJacks to an 8-28 overall record and an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference record of 4-17. In the UMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, Northland was slated to finish sixth.
Tyler Murphy returns to Northland after leading the team last year with a batting average of .325. Murphy ended his sophomore season with UMAC All-Conference Honorable. Some other key returners are pitchers
Kazdion Mount and
Peyton Solberg. Mount finished with a 2-2 record, including a complete-game shutout. Solberg had a team-low 3.34 ERA, three saves, and 23 strikeouts. The LumberJacks added 14 freshmen and two transfers to the team.
