Jills return to the ice with a two-game series at No. 13/(RV) UW-Eau Claire

ASHLAND, Wis. – After the bye week, the Northland College Women's Hockey team returns to the ice for a two-game series at No. 13/(RV) University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The series starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and concludes at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The last time the LumberJills were in action, they hosted the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Although they did not come away with any points, Karsyn McQuaker and Rachel Fussy scored their first collegiate goals. Maddy Bliss started in both games, totaling 61 saves, while Zoey Soost entered in relief and made 17 saves.
 
Junior Kyleigh Moffatt leads Northland with six points, scoring a team-high five goals and one assist. Kennedy Gruhlke follows with five points on two goals and three assists. Eleven of the skaters for the LumberJills have recorded at least one point this season. Bliss, Soost, and Zoe Laming have all spent time in goal this season. Bliss leads the goaltenders with 379 saves, followed by Laming with 293 and Soost with 132.
 
In the most recent US College Hockey Online poll, the Blugolds are receiving votes, and in the DIII Hockey News poll, they are ranked 13th. UW-Eau Claire has a 15-7-0 record and is 7-2-0 in the WIAC. Last week, UWEC traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Superior and won 3-1, but fell later in the week to No. 2 University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 2-9. Sophomore Madisyn Krumholz leads the Blugolds with 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists. Eight other Blugolds have double-digit points.
