Northland returns home for a midweek contest, then hits the road for weekend action

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team will host North Central University on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m., then travel to Martin Luther College on Saturday for a 2:45 p.m. tipoff in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action.

Hannah Peel and Britta Josephson lead Northland offensively, with 103 and 97 points, respectively. Kodie Rempp rounds out the top three with 72 points. Peel also has a team-high 24 assists, ranking sixth in the UMAC. Rempp and Josephson rank fourth and fifth in the conference with 81 and 62 rebounds, respectively. Hanna Hoskin leads the team in blocks with seven.
 
The Rams are 2-13 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Last week, NCU lost 53-56 to the University of Minnesota-Morris, then bounced back with a 54-43 victory over Crown College. North Central is averaging 49.5 points per game, with Kaitlyn VanderPloeg leading the team at 17.2 points per game. VanderPloeg also leads the UMAC with 258 points and 140 rebounds.
 
Martin Luther College has a 10-4 record and is undefeated in UMAC play with a 4-0 mark. Last week, the Knights defeated the University of Northwestern 72-68 and the University of Wisconsin-Superior 60-52. This season, MLC is outscoring its opponents by an average of 10.5 points. Sophomore Mya Morris leads the team with 215 points (15.4 per game), followed by Emma Dorn with 135 points (10.4 per game).
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
