Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

LumberJills fall to No. 8 Augsburg

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Hockey team fell in its final non-conference game 7-0 to No. 8 Augsburg University Monday night in Ashland, Wis.

The fast style of play of the Auggies proved too much for Northland to keep up with. Augsburg scored its first goal on the power play and did not look back. The LumberJills had a few chances but could not get on the board.

Julia Fussy had a majority of the Northland shots with four. With Augsburg spending a lot of time in the Northland zone, the Jills were breaking up shots, blocking 31. All 10 skaters had at least one block with Nevaeh Trihey stopping a career-high eight. The Northland goaltenders were tested from the jump with Zoe Laming saving 38 shots and Maddy Bliss stopping 34.

The LumberJills return to Wisconsin Athletic Intercollegiate Conference action on Jan. 24 as they travel to the top-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
