Northland falls at Hamline

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team fell in its opening game of the 2024 season 6-0 at Hamline University Sunday evening in St. Paul, Minn.

The Jacks were in their own half for the majority of the game. The defense was put to the test early with many attacks from the Pipers. Hamline broke the deadlock 12 minutes in and did not stop there ending the first half up 5-0.

In the second half, Northland held HU to only one goal and Rodrigo Chavez made seven saves in net.

The LumberJacks' offense was held quiet with only one shot on target coming from Deshaun Williams in the second half. Avery Zenger had the other three shots for NC but were not enough to challenge the keeper. Chavez in his debut game made 15 saves.

Northland continues its road trip on Wednesday when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Stout for a game at 7 p.m., in Menomonie, Wis.

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
