ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Baseball team starts the 2024 season with a trip to Auburndale Fla., for five non-conference games.

Cal Fougner enters his first season as the head coach of Northland College Baseball. Previously the lead assistant coach at Valley City State University.
 
Last season the LumberJacks went 13-21 overall and 8-13 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play. In the UMAC Preseason Coaches Poll Northland was picked to finish sixth.
 
The top returns for Northland are Zach Ross, Andrew Birko, and Matthew Trager. Ross last season was named UMAC First Team All-Conference and 2023 ABCA All-Region. At the plate, he batted a team-high .379, was second in the conference with 43 RBIs, and had the third most home runs in the UMAC with eight. Birko and Trager were also named UMAC First Team All-Conference. Birko pitched 67 innings with 45 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.57. Trager had an ERA of 1.71 while holding batters to a .221 batting average.
