ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team was defeated 5-2 by Concordia University (Wis.) in a nonconference game Tuesday night in Ashland, Wis.
The LumberJacks were held quiet in the first 20 minutes only recording six shots. The Falcons took the lead in the eight minutes in and less than two minutes later they doubled their lead.
Valerii Kneib scored his first goal of the season for the Jacks to cut the lead to one before the first horn.
Early in the second period, CUW regained its two-goal lead and then added their fourth 10 minutes in off a powerplay.
Logan Gallagher scored his second of the season with the man advantage in the third period. The Falcons scored the final goal of the game with 13 minutes remaining to help CUW win 5-2.
Northland tallied 23 shots in the game with
Ben Stewart, Kneib, and
Andronique Stepanian leading NC with four on target. Kneib and Gallagher scored for the Jacks with
Mac Reed, Stepanian, and
Sam Holy assisting on the goals.
Dakota Meyer made his Northland College debut in the net for the LumberJacks and made 38 saves.
The Jacks are in action on Nov. 15 when they travel to Augsburg University of a 7 p.m., puck drop.
