LumberJills have a busy Thanksgiving week with four games

Northland plays two two-game series this week

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Hockey team will be busy this week as they play four games in five days over Thanksgiving week. The LumberJills start their week at the College St. Benedict for a two-game series then host Lawrence University for a pair of games

The Jills had one game last week, continuing in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Offensively, Northland had its best offensive game tallying the most shots, but were still held out of the net. Zoe Laming made the start in goal, making 29 saves over two periods. Maddy Bliss ended the game by making 20 saves in the third.
 
This season Kennedy Gruhlke paces the LumberJill offense with eight shots on target. Karsen Nicksic, Julia Fussy, and Kiera Fairnington are all tied behind her for second on the team. Defensively, Hannah Chady leads the team with 11 blocked shots with Yvonne Durfee not far behind with eight. Over the three games, Laming and Bliss have made 74 and 70 saves respectively.
 
The Bennies enter play with a 3-2-2 record and are 3-0-1 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. CSB has played three games against WIAC teams with a record of 0-2-1, getting the draw against UW-Superior, but losing in the shootout. Chloe Lewis and Shae Stinnett lead the team with five points. Lewis has a team-high three goals while Stinnett is one of five Bennies who pace the team with three assists.
 
The Vikings are 1-6-1 on the season. Last week LU played No. 5 Adrian College and was defeated 0-10 and 1-12. Lawrence's win came against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on its home opener with a 2-1 overtime victory. Senior Aislinn O'Hagan leads the team in points and goals at four and three respectively. Sarah Dobrzynski and Ella Sciborski have split the majority time in the net. Dobrynski leads the duo with 197 saves and has a 91.2 save percentage.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
