Women’s Hockey travels to UW-Superior for the first road game of the season

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Hockey team travels to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Friday at 2 p.m.

Northland started its 2024-25 season with two top-ranked teams in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The LumberJills fought hard in both contests were remained scoreless after both games. Zoe Laming started the first game of the season, making 45 saves and Maddy Bliss made her collegiate debut against the Falcons and stopped 50 shots.
 
The Yellowjackets have started the season 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in WIAC competition. Last week UWS won in a shoot-out over the College of Saint Benedict on the road and then fell in its first conference game 3-5 to UW-Eau Claire. Four student-athletes pace the Yellowjackets with six points: Kaylin Garner, Kailey Swerhun, Gaby Andreacchi, and Jenna Hoops. Garner has a team-high five goals on the season. The time in the net has been split between Annan Maulson and Molly Black who have 118 and 62 saves respectively.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
