ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team tied 1-1 for the second game in a row this time against Martin Luther College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis. Freshman
Chris Gomez scored his first collegiate goal of the season in the draw.

The first half was pretty even between the teams with both tallying four shots on target.
Rodrigo Chavez and Nicholas Russ both kept all the shots they saw out of the net in the first 45. Gomez had the first shot on target for the Jacks in the 14
th minute.

Gomez broke the deadlock not even two minutes into the second half.
Lebron Owusu sent the ball past the defender on the path of Gomez where he took a few dribbles and slotted one past the keeper. A minute later he had another great opportunity to double the lead. Northland had many more chances to increase the lead but Russ kept them out of the net. The Knights continued to put pressure on Chavez. The Knights remained scoreless until the final minute where they intercepted a throw in and Matthew Koelpin took a shot that found the side netted leveling the game at one.

The Jacks recorded their most shots on goal in a game with 10. Gomez had a game-leading five,
Keenan Bayer was behind with two, and
Avery Zenger and
Noah Del Vecchio had one on frame. Chavez saw 10 shots on target and made nine saves in the draw.

The Jacks continue their homestand on Wednesday with a 4:30 kick-off against North Central University.
